Responsibilities

Directs maintenance departments for both slaughter and debone plants

Performs administrative duties in preparing and analyzing reports for maintenance

Holds maintenance supervisors accountable for hourly maintenance personnel and maintenance downtime

Manages the learning and training of subordinates to continually improve their knowledge and skills

Maintains close and effective working relationship with production, quality control, and USDA

Performs other duties as required

This is a safety sensitive position

Manages up to four subordinate supervisors who supervise up to 35 employees in the maintenance department

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Required

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in engineering or business administration

Five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations

Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Knowledge of Internet software, Manufacturing software, Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software

Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear

Ability to stand and walk frequently

Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
