Akkodis is seeking a Research & Development Engineer for a 6+ Months Contract position. The role focuses on process improvement, development, and supporting prototype/product builds while coordinating with project stakeholders.

Evaluate designs for manufacturability improvements and implement

Develop robust processes that drive product and business goals

Test products

Pull data, analyze, and publish results

Perform failure analysis using formal processes and communicate results

Create documentation

Communicate status to Leadership

Train factory personnel as part of transition activities

Qualification

Engineering DegreeSix Sigma CertificationInertial Instruments ExperienceDesign Tools MasterySelf-motivatedClear Communication

Required

Degree in Engineering (Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chem. Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering)

1.5 years professional experience

Preferred

Experience with inertial instruments

Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events

Demonstrated mastery of design tools appropriate for the field (MiniTab, Access, MS Office Suite, etc.)

Six Sigma certification and demonstrated use of tools

Demonstrated previous program experience & success

Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
