Summer Programs Assistant Resident Director (Temporary)

Berklee College of Music is seeking a Summer Programs Assistant Resident Director to provide structure and support for their various Summer Programs. The role involves training and supervising a team of Resident Assistants, managing high-school aged program participants, and responding to emergencies as part of the Crisis Response Team.

Responsibilities

Live on-campus throughout Summer Programs
Assist with implementing a training program for the Resident Assistants under the guidance of the full-time Summer Programs Staff and Area Supervisors
Provide supervision to the Summer Resident Assistant team, which includes one-on-one meetings, running weekly staff meetings, and creating leadership opportunities for the team
Prepare buildings for summer program participant arrivals, including coordinating move-in and move-out procedures & logistics, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, and other tasks as assigned for all Summer Programs
Serve as a primary on-call staff member, responding to emergencies, assisting with evening curfew checks, and addressing other issues as they arise
Respond to disciplinary issues and other participant concerns through conduct meetings and one-on-one meetings with participants
Participate in written and verbal communication with students and parents surrounding conduct concerns, follow-ups and sanctions
Oversee rounds for buildings
Scheduling & timecards for Resident Assistants
Some travel may be required

Required

Currently enrolled in a Higher Education/Student Affairs graduate program or comparable level of housing & residential life experience
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills essential
Must be detail-oriented and able to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Must have a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be proficient with computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel, and Google Suite

Preferred

Previous experience in housing/residence life preferred
