Responsibilities

Sample harvest trucks and performs all associated testing with harvest. Communicate with Lab manager any failing results
Print tags in timely manner for plant to ensure smooth workflow
Create sample bags and performs seed counts on all new crop batches. Prepare sample bags to be shipped for official testing
Conduct appropriate testing on all new crop batches including, VMD, Bushel Weight, and plants samples for germination testing
Assist Lab manager with assessing germinations and recording results. Report any noncompliance to Lab manager
Ensure all samples are labelled appropriately for storage so they can be easily identified should resampling be needed
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing trainings and reporting to work on time
Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including hands-on instrument troubleshooting & repair

Required

High school diploma required; experience may be considered in lieu of education
3+ years of experience required, preferably in a laboratory
Effective communication, interpersonal, organization and planning skills
Experience with quality lab processes and procedures
Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Bartender
Working knowledge of different types of Laboratory processes and procedures
Ability to analyze information, reporting research results, documentation skill, and promoting process improvements
