Assistant Controller
Catelli Brothers Family of Foods is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in managing the financial operations of the organization. This role involves ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for operational decisions.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries
Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for operational decisions
Support all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Participate in audits and liaise with external auditors as needed
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to enhance efficiency
Manage special projects requiring high attention to detail and accuracy
Prepare for and participate in 1-3 annual physical inventory counts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects requiring meticulous attention to detail
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Advanced in Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent computer skills including accounting systems or ERP software
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects demanding high attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Must read and write English
Travel requirement if needed out-of-state
Ability to work in a highly confidential environment
Knowledge of best practices and how position integrates with others internally and externally
