Nonprofit Center Internship

Anne Arundel County Office of Personnel is seeking a temporary paid intern to join the Nonprofit Center for Summer 2026. The intern will assist with communications, events, general operations, and special projects while gaining practical experience in the nonprofit sector.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Draft/edit newsletter articles, organizational spotlights, social media posts, and other marketing materials
Assist staff with various office tasks to support resident nonprofit organizations
Assist with planning and implementation of on-site programs, events, and activities
Research potential center-based services, including a volunteer program
Correspond with organizations, county agencies, and the public
Select a special project of interest that benefits the Nonprofit Center or nonprofit sector in Anne Arundel County

Required

Must be a current undergraduate/graduate student at a US-accredited University
All applicants/students must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0+
Students are required to upload an official or unofficial transcript to their application to demonstrate their enrollment status and GPA
Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
Interest in nonprofit management, health and human services, and civic engagement
Knowledge of Anne Arundel County
Proficiency with Google Suite and Canva
Ability to interact and build professional relationships virtually and in person
Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
Reliable transportation

Preferred

Ideal for students studying Marketing, Business Administration, Health and Human Services, Political Science, Civics, Public Administration, Communications, Graphic Design, or related fields
