Research Technologist - Neurosurgery
Penn State University is seeking a Research Technologist in Neurosurgery to perform specialized tasks associated with developing, designing, and conducting research projects and experiments. The role involves working with animals and conducting various laboratory tasks under the general direction of faculty and post-docs.

Responsibilities
Learning and managing lab orders and purchases, including supplies, reagents, animals, and documentation
Learning and handling mouse husbandry, including breeding, PCR genotyping, and documentation
Learning and performing drug treatments, including tail vein injection, oral and nasal drug administration
Learning and conducting mouse brain tissue sectioning (frozen and paraffin)
Learning and acquiring images using fluorescence microscopy
Learning and conducting neurological behavioral tests in mice following stroke and brain trauma
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education
The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
