Building Controls Engineer

They are seeking a Building Controls Engineer to design, program, and enhance intelligent building systems that manage HVAC, lighting, security, and other key functions using modern analytics and automation.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and program Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize facility performance
Integrate machine learning and AI models for predictive maintenance, energy forecasting, and smart control strategies
Collaborate with clients, engineers, and architects to understand facility requirements and translate them into automated control solutions
Perform commissioning, calibration, and verification of automation systems
Monitor and analyze energy data to identify savings opportunities and improve system efficiency
Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, BACnet, and relevant building standards
Troubleshoot system issues and implement software or hardware updates
Provide client training and documentation on system operation and optimization

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years' experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, or Energy Management Systems (EMS)
Strong understanding of HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems
Proficiency with one or more of the following: BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.), Programming and scripting (Python, C++, SQL, or similar), Data analytics or ML frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or collaboratively

Preferred

Familiarity with energy efficiency programs, rebates, or performance contracting is a plus
