Responsibilities

Performs non-routine and complex inspection assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others
Supervisor or professional engineer outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches
Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements
Perform one or a combination of the following:
Inspects major units, devices, or equipment
Conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; and reports results
Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance. Determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducts tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results and prepares reports on findings and recommendations
Demonstrates extensive proficiency within expertise and ability to train less experienced inspectors
Under direction of the engineering staff, applies engineering principles and theories in inspecting, testing, and modifying equipment such as machinery
Assists with the production of prototypes
Performs other duties as assigned
Must be able to support all shifts, weekends, and overtime

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical training in the applicable area of expertise
Required certifications
8 years of related experience and technical training and certification as required across all areas of industry accepted disciplines for the technical support to aerospace systems and equipment
Must be able to support all shifts, weekends, and overtime
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required
Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
Ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives
Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver's license
Must pass a federal background investigation
Must comply with all 'drug free workplace' requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions
