Responsibilities
Develop complete layouts for fire sprinkler systems (NFPA 13) and/or fire alarm systems (NFPA 72)
Prepare drawings, hydraulic calculations (sprinkler), voltage drop/battery calculations (alarm), material lists, and submittals
Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and field installation teams to ensure accuracy and constructability
Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards, building/fire codes, and AHJ requirements
Revise drawings and documents as projects progress through permitting, installation, and inspection
Attend coordination meetings with contractors and other trades as needed
Provide technical support during project bidding and estimating
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in fire protection system design (sprinkler and/or fire alarm)
Working knowledge of NFPA 13 (sprinkler) and/or NFPA 72 (alarm), plus applicable building/fire codes
Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit and industry-specific calculation software (sprinkler hydraulic or alarm voltage drop/battery) a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred
NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout or Fire Alarm Systems (preferred or in progress)
