They are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join their OB team, where the LVN will assist in patient examinations and treatments under the direction of licensed medical personnel.

Responsibilities
Obtain, evaluate, and record patient history in medical file
Obtain and measure vital signs and record information on patients' charts
Assist in the examination of patients under the direction of licensed medical staff and/or Registered Nurse
May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
Prepare and administer medications according the five (5) rights of medication administration
Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests
Referrals – sending referrals, closing out referral when consultations are received in clinic
Take incoming STAT calls from Quest and ARA, document, and send to provider
Complete data entry into the Electronic Health Records (EHR), state lab results, Hemoglobin and leads
Research companies that offer the services (Speech Therapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Physical Therapy) that the physician has referred, that is in network with the patient’s insurance and request authorization
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing school
Valid State of Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred
Previous nursing experience in a Clinic/Outpatient environment
Previous work using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
