Responsibilities

Review and accurately docket all incoming U.S. and foreign patent correspondence, including USPTO communications, WIPO/PCT filings, Hague correspondence, client instructions, and foreign associate updates
Maintain and update the firm’s CPI docketing database to ensure all deadlines are properly recorded
Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly docket reports to attorneys and staff
Monitor upcoming deadlines and follow up as necessary to ensure timely filings and responses
Assist with quality control checks of docket entries
Support attorneys, paralegals, and staff with docket-related inquiries
Coordinate with foreign associates and clients regarding docketing matters as needed
Generate and distribute custom reports upon Attorney or Client request
Perform other administrative tasks related to IP docket management

Qualification

Patent docketing experienceUSPTO proceduresCPI docketing systemAttention to detailOrganizational skillsCommunication skills

Required

Prior experience in patent docketing within an IP law firm or corporate IP department required (2+ years)
Strong understanding of USPTO, PCT, and foreign patent office procedures and deadlines
Proficiency with major docketing systems (e.g., CPI (preferred), FoundationIP, Anaqua, Patricia, etc.)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Experience with both patent and trademark docketing
Experience in a high-volume IP practice
