Director, Client Strategy & Growth - Public Sector

As the Director, Client Strategy & Growth – Public Sector, you will serve as a trusted advisor to government clients while identifying modernization opportunities and leading relationships to ensure impactful solutions for agencies.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for key government agencies, managing day-to-day relationship needs across multiple engagements
Understand the nuances of public-sector environments—including policy drivers, constituent needs, funding cycles, and legislative priorities—and bring relevant strategic insights
Ensure on-time, on-budget, and compliant delivery by partnering closely with project managers and delivery teams and removing impediments
Lead long-term agency road mapping, modernization planning, and cross-department coordination to advance growth outcomes
Provide frequent status updates, monthly account reporting, and budget oversight aligned to government transparency expectations
Manage account revenue projections, profitability, and compliance with contracts, agreements, procurement rules, and internal policies
Build trusted relationships across agency levels—from program managers to CIOs, elected officials, and cross-agency partners
Drive public-sector pipeline activity by identifying, qualifying, and developing opportunities through outreach, networking, partner channels, and RFx engagement
Map ambiguous challenges—legacy systems, regulatory constraints, constituent experience gaps—into structured engagement paths
Bring technical fluency to early conversations, helping agencies understand modernization options and solution approaches
Collaborate with SMEs, solution leaders, and line-of-business leads to craft procurement-ready proposals, estimates, and SOWs
Lead outreach strategies (email, LinkedIn, industry events, public-sector conferences) and proactively engage decision-makers
Maintain accurate pipeline data and activity tracking in CRM systems (HubSpot)
Support targeted marketing initiatives aimed at government audiences and follow up on inbound interest
Act as a trusted advisor who anticipates agency needs, challenges assumptions, and introduces innovative and compliant approaches
Stay current on public-sector trends, modernization mandates, accessibility standards, cybersecurity requirements, and funding opportunities
Connect clients with relevant thought leaders, frameworks, governance models, and cross-functional expertise
Maintain an open mindset toward innovation, including AI readiness, data modernization, experience design, and cloud adoption in government contexts
Build cohesive, high-performing teams prepared to operate in government environments with clarity, accountability, and compliance
Guide internal teams on agency-specific nuances, policy considerations, and public-sector sensitivities
Collaborate with project management and line-of-business leaders on performance, delivery quality, and continuous improvement
Ensure alignment across solution teams, sales, project management, and executive leadership to drive sustainable public-sector growth
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field (highly preferred)
10–15+ years in client service, business development, solution selling, or digital agency roles—with public-sector experience strongly preferred
Proven experience leading major accounts, shaping modernization initiatives, and driving measurable growth
A background in engineering, systems, data, IT consulting, solution architecture, or similar technical exposure
Ability to “read between the lines” to uncover true public-sector needs and translate them for both clients and internal teams, while maintaining compliance of public sector guidelines
Strong presence with agency executives, program leaders, and technical stakeholders
Experience drafting proposals, SOWs, or formal solutioning documents—ideally for government procurement processes
Ability to navigate both enterprise environments and iterative, agile delivery approaches common in modernization efforts
Understanding of transformation areas like digital experience, cloud modernization, business strategy, cybersecurity, or data analytics
Experience meeting or exceeding revenue targets and influencing cross-functional teams
Columbus, OH–based with availability for hybrid work and onsite collaboration with government clients
