Product Development Engineer - Federal Ammunition
The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition. They are seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead product development programs for handgun ammunition, providing project management and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product launches.

Responsibilities
Provide overall project management and leadership for successful completion of handgun new product development projects. This includes project documentation, maintaining program budget and schedule, product and tooling design, process development, quality specifications, raw material procurement, testing, and production
Communicate and work effectively with engineering technicians to convey requirements and goals for new products
Work and communicate effectively with cross functional teams to convey product goals and process requirements for successful launch of new products. Includes equipment and process optimization, troubleshooting, establishing bills of material, and scheduling support
Clear problem solving and failure analysis capability to resolve design and production issues
Support Marketing team with technical data review, asset creation, and attendance at trade and consumer shows as a subject matter expert
Initiate and maintain vendor and outside technical resources as needed to be successful in developing new processes and products
Thorough understanding and broad application of technical standards, principles, theories, and techniques relating to small arms ammunition and other related disciplines is desired but not essential
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
0-6+ years of related experience or equivalent technical training or experience
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Hands-on problem-solving and mechanical aptitude desired
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Personal computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point. Experience with Minitab or similar software preferred

Preferred
Background in ammunition development, ballistics, firearms, and related processes
Experience related to military service, hunting, competitive shooting, and reloading
CAD/CAM experience desired
Experience using statistics to guide design direction and specification development
Knowledge of advanced materials and processes
