Director, Events and Sales
Concord Church is seeking a Director of Events and Sales responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and event implementation plans to drive revenue growth. This role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external events while leading a high-performing team to achieve revenue goals and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy targeting key market segments (corporate, social, association, etc.)
Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners within the community
Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
Prepare and monitor sales forecasts, budgets, and reports
Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of events to ensure flawless delivery
Work with clients to understand their event objectives and translate them into successful experiences
Collaborate with internal teams (Guest Services, AV, Operations, Sunday Experience, etc.) to ensure events meet client expectations
Manage event timelines, logistics, and post-event evaluations
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing events and sales team
Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations
Provide training, coaching, and motivation to drive team success
Foster a positive, results-driven work environment
Achieve or exceed revenue and profitability targets
Monitor event budgets and ensure cost-effective planning
Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and clients
Attend and successfully complete all training required by Concord Church
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field (Master's preferred)
7+ years of experience in sales and event management, with at least 3 in a leadership role
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in CRM and event management software
Ability to manage one's time
Ability to effectively articulate thoughts clearly and concisely, both verbally and written
Ability to listen and understand non-verbal cues
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity
A valid drivers' license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required
