Boeing Aerospace Operations is seeking Product Repair/Modification Technicians – Structures to assist their team in Jacksonville, Florida. The role involves assembling aircraft structures, using various tools, and ensuring proper maintenance and repair actions are documented.

Responsibilities

Assemble aircraft structures and associated components with the aid of the following tools and resources:
Jigs and fixtures by drilling, filing, filling, honing, reaming, counter-sinking, dimpling, burring and fastening under general supervision
Setup and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as:  dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors, and calipers, etc
Common hand tools such as: drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, bucking bars, etc
Replace ribs, stiffeners, stringers in skinned assemblies establishing from blueprints with firm callouts, butt, center, chord, station and water lines
Operate such equipment as brakes, grinders, band saws, and presses
Pickup blind hole locations for blank parts from existing structure.  Also able to correct cans, buckles, wrinkles in outer skins
Identify different types of corrosion, and with minimal supervision clean and treat corrosion, remove damaged areas, fabricate parts to repair damaged area, determine rivet patterns, layouts, etc
Clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc
Order parts, pan stock, tools, materials, and equipment as required to perform assigned duties
Operate daily wearing required safety equipment
Train and assist newer structures mechanics in proper methods and techniques
Communicate using basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office as needed to complete essential job requirements
Performs other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program, or employees
With minimal supervision, perform close tolerance assembly operations such as: shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning where variances may occur considerably from one assembly to another as with fairings and the mating of major structural assemblies

Required

2+ years of performing aircraft structural and mechanical work
2+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures
Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant is desirable
