Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer

Responsibilities

Inspect, setup, test, and evaluate systems and equipment to verify performance against specifications and requirements
Analyze test data and communicate results, findings, and recommendations to Program Managers and Systems Engineers
Travel to contractor facilities, other government facilities, and ships to support project activities
Install and configure various instrumentation including accelerometers, strain gauges, and other sensors to capture performance data
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test procedures to ensure proper test execution
Develop proficiency in data acquisition and analysis software including DeweSoft, DATS, LabVIEW, and MATLAB
Prepare comprehensive test reports, technical presentations, and documentation using Microsoft Office applications
Safely operate weight handling equipment and other test support machinery in accordance with established safety procedures
Follow written test procedures and protocols with precision to ensure data integrity and test validity
Maintain accurate test records and ensure proper documentation of all test activities and configuration changes
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, and program staff to support test objectives

Required

U.S. Citizenship
Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in test and evaluation, systems testing, or related engineering role
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with equipment, systems, or machinery
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
Experience with instrumentation installation and data collection techniques
Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and protocols
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports and presentations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% to support test activities at various locations
Physical ability to safely operate weight handling equipment and work in test environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data sets

Preferred

Experience with data acquisition and analysis software such as DeweSoft, DATS, LabVIEW, or MATLAB
Familiarity with military standards, specifications, and test procedures
Experience supporting Navy or DoD programs and testing activities
Certification in equipment operation, rigging, or weight handling
