Process Improvement Manufacturing Engineer

Rolls-Royce is a leading company in innovation and engineering, seeking a Process Improvement Manufacturing Engineer to join their Central ME Improvement Team in Indianapolis. This role focuses on driving Quality, Cost, and Delivery improvements across manufacturing facilities using DMAIC methodology and lean principles.

Responsibilities

Apply DMAIC, lean principles, and structured problem solving to identify, validate, and execute high impact QCD improvement projects
Analyze operational and business performance data to identify the top drivers of variation, waste, and inefficiency across all Indianapolis facilities
Facilitate cross-functional root cause analysis, kaizen events, and continuous improvement workshops
Conduct time studies, workflow assessments, and labor efficiency analyses to identify improvement opportunities and validate process changes
Develop and deploy standard work, process controls, and waste reduction strategies that deliver measurable and sustainable improvements. Support development and maintenance of Technical Package elements required for process control and product integrity
Partner with ME teams and plant leadership to align improvement priorities, processes, reduce variation, and replicate best practices across sites
Ensure alignment of method of manufacture with design intent through frequent collaboration with design engineering

Required

An Associates of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, OR
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, OR
A Master of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, OR
A JR/PhD, OR
In lieu of a degree, 6+ years' experience in Machining Operations or Engineering in addition to having experience with the preferred requirements listed below
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred

Accredited Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt preferred: Green Belt acceptable
Demonstrated experience leading DMAIC and lean improvement events
Proven and quantifiable process improvement experience strongly preferred, including measurable gains in quality, cost, delivery, throughput, or waste reduction
Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis, capability evaluation, and performance modeling
Experience with PFMEA, PPAP, control plans, and process capability improvement
Ability to influence and lead cross functional teams without direct authority
Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes, tolerances, and requirements
