Vice President Business Operations

Meridian Cooperative is seeking a Vice President of Business Operations to lead and scale enterprise-wide operations during a period of continued growth and transformation. This key leadership role involves translating strategy into operational excellence while overseeing multiple functional areas to drive efficiency, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Set the operational strategy by developing and executing plans, policies, and procedures aligned with Meridian Enterprise’s vision and business goals
Drive operational excellence by streamlining processes, optimizing resources, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities across all functions
Strengthen customer relationships and ensure service level agreements are consistently met or exceeded
Oversee day-to-day operations across print and mail production, strategic planning, purchasing, and administrative functions
Establish and refine vendor and pricing models, ensuring strong partnerships, cost efficiency, and long-term value
Maintain strong internal controls that promote accountability, transparency, and compliance
Partner cross-functionally with department leaders and executives to support enterprise-wide planning, problem-solving, and execution
Lead and develop teams by setting clear goals, defining competencies, building development plans, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
Build scalable organizations with the right talent, structure, and leadership capability to support growth
Promote innovation and thought leadership, encouraging new ideas, creativity, and forward-thinking solutions
Represent the company externally at industry conferences and networking events
Ensure compliance with all Meridian corporate policies and procedures
Travel as needed and perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field (required)
12+ years of experience in print and mail operations, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Proven success managing large-scale print and mail operations with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and cost control
Deep knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing standards
Proficiency with print and mail production technologies and supporting software
Advanced critical thinking, strategic planning, and analytical capabilities
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies that achieve business objectives
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions
Solution-oriented, innovative, and proactive mindset
High adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments with competing priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Paid Time Off: Eligible to begin accrual from date of hire; accrual amount based on years of service. Beginning accrual rate equivalent to 22 days per year. 10 holidays which include the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Up to 240 hours of PTO can roll over to the following year.
Volunteer Time: 8 hours per year
Retirement: Robust 401K. Following one year of eligible service, the Company contributes in two ways: (1) match of 100% of each dollar you contribute on the first five percent (5%) of eligible compensation, and (2) Employer basic contribution of 4% of base salary (with increases in basic contribution percentage based on years of service). Employees are 100% vested in Company funded contributions from the date they enter the plan.
