Account Manager - Building Products
Trylak is a leading manufacturer in the building materials industry, and they are seeking a motivated Account Manager to grow and manage their network of distributors throughout the New England region. This role focuses on expanding the reach of their Building Envelope product line and developing new distributor relationships that align with their strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Distributor Relationship Management – Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing distributors through regular communication, on-site visits, and joint business planning
Growth & Performance Reviews – Conduct quarterly reviews with distributor partners to assess performance, identify opportunities, and align marketing and sales strategies
New Business Development – Identify and evaluate new distribution opportunities within the region to fill strategic gaps and drive market coverage
Distributor Onboarding – Lead onboarding efforts for new partners, including product training, pricing setup, and launch coordination
Training & Education – Deliver technical product presentations and training sessions for distributor sales teams
Support continuing education initiatives with architects, consultants, and specifiers to increase brand awareness and product adoption
Conduct hands-on training events with builders and contractors in collaboration with distribution partners
Market Intelligence – Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market shifts within the Building Envelope space
Collaboration & Support – Work closely with internal product management and marketing teams to coordinate regional promotions, support new product introductions, and ensure alignment of channel strategy
CRM & Reporting – Maintain detailed account and pipeline information in the company’s CRM system, and provide regular updates on sales performance and market activity
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3 years of sales experience in building materials, construction products, or a related industry
Proven background in distribution or channel sales, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and complex relationships
Strong presentation and training experience; ability to communicate technical product information clearly to diverse audiences
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing a large, multi-state territory independently
Proficient in CRM systems and basic reporting tools
Willingness to travel regionally (50–70%)
