Responsibilities

Supervises, trains and develops department staff

Dispatches Escorts & Orderly Escorts to transport patients in a timely manner

Prepares bi-weekly work schedule for escort department

Transports patient when needed

Orders supplies & maintains equipment

Conducts personal and escort employee’s development and required training

Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style

Other related duties as required

Required

High School diploma or equivalent

1 year experience in a supervisory or leadership role

Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information

Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally

Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard

Positive interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal effectively and courteously with nursing unit's personnel, ancillary departments and doctors

Basic analytical skills necessary in order to maintain simple logs, records, and list of such items as incoming and outgoing calls to various areas

Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Must be able to move and lift objects weighing up to 350 lbs

Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
