The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an Assistant Structural Design Quality Assurance Engineer to manage and perform Quality Assurance reviews of bridge and roadway structure plans. The role includes training junior engineers and assisting with the evaluation of structural policies and the development of standard drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

Manages and performs Quality Assurance reviews of bridge plans

Manages and performs Quality Assurance reviews of roadway structure plans

Assists with evaluation of aspects of Department structural policies and procedures

Assists with the development of standard structural drawings and details and specifications

Manages and trains junior engineers and engineering associates in various engineering and technical duties

Manages and performs reviews of structural elements for encroachment permits, shop plans, and other submittals

Assists in the evaluation and implementation of new software, technology, and other design aids

Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management

Three (3) years of engineering or construction management work experience

An approved acceptable equivalence
