ZSuite Technologies is entering an aggressive growth phase, focused on owning the niche of complex sub-accounting and related Virtual Account Management solutions. They are seeking a Staff or Principal Software Engineer who will provide technical leadership and guide cross-functional teams through complex architectural shifts while ensuring compliance and efficiency in product delivery.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the long-term architectural vision for ZSuite, ensuring our infrastructure supports 10x volume and remains core-agnostic (Strategy Pillar 2)

Provide deep technical mentorship and coaching to engineers across multiple pods, leveling up our collective implementation practices and fostering a culture of technical excellence

Lead high-stakes initiatives, including API refactoring, data layer modernization (SQL Server to PostgreSQL), and the introduction of embedded payment rails

Serve as a champion for AI-assisted development, demonstrating how to use AI as a daily productivity and strategic partner to accelerate roadmap delivery and code quality

Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to implement Lean methodologies, ensuring the team consistently delivers value in small, high-frequency batches

Act as a strategic partner to the CPTO and VP of Product, translating McKinsey Horizon 2 & 3 opportunities into resilient technical reality

Required

8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience in a technical leadership capacity (Staff, Principal, or Architect)

Polyglot Mastery: Expert-level command of .NET Core and Next.js/React, with a proven ability to master and deploy new languages or frameworks as the mission requires

AI-Integrated Workflow: Demonstrated experience using AI tools to increase personal and team velocity, from code generation and refactoring to strategic problem-solving and documentation

Lean/Incremental Delivery: Deep understanding of Lean software development, including CI/CD best practices, small batch sizes, and reducing waste in the delivery pipeline

Apply a Growth Mindset: A relentless drive for self-improvement and a desire to stay at the forefront of fintech and engineering trends

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a specific focus on the ability to lead asynchronously and document complex architectural decisions for a remote-first team

Preferred

Startup DNA: Previous experience in an early-stage or Series A/B startup is highly preferred; you must be comfortable with ambiguity and have a 'builder' mindset
