This role involves supporting event planning, marketing campaigns, and maintaining communication with local businesses.
Civic & Social Organization
Responsibilities
Support the Chamber’s Community Events, including:
Audit/maintain organizational checklists for event planning
Acquire licensing needed for events, including sidewalk permits & liquor licenses
Assist with tracking event sponsor benefits
Coordinate volunteer signups for events
Maintain Google Forms for businesses participation
Audit event pages on Squarespace & Eventbrite
Add events to Choose Chicago calendar & other city-wide marketing calendars
Support the Chamber’s Marketing efforts, including:
Run business Sunday Spotlights social media program
Run business spotlight social media programs for Black History Month, Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, etc
Create & send weekly Business Bulletin and Happenings newsletters to the neighborhood and business communities
Create and send weekly Farmers Market newsletters June-October
Run community events calendar - receive & vet submissions, add listings to website
Create event webpages on Squarespace & Eventbrite
Support the Chamber’s Communications efforts, including:
Monitor company information email inbox
Keep website up to date with upcoming events and other relevant information
Maintain regular communication with businesses about upcoming events, membership benefits, etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
1+ years experience in marketing, social media management, event management, fundraising, or another related field
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google products
Must be proficient with Social Media platforms, strategy, content creation & analytics
Familiarity with Graphic Design platforms - Canva, etc
Able to lift 50 lbs
