Responsibilities

Preparing filings for judge and staff review, including document retrieval, and providing documents to chambers
Assisting with answering phones, returning phone calls, and receiving and distributing voicemails
Researching caseloads
Calendar management
Moderating virtual hearings
Assisting with client contact for newly assigned cases and reminders
Performing special projects
Conducting research and analysis
Performing computer related work
Collecting and entering data
Providing customer service
Drafting correspondences and memos
Attending community planning meetings
Assisting staff as directed
Following up with treatment providers and defendants

Qualification

Behavioral SciencesSocial SciencesData EntryCustomer ServiceResearch Skills

Required

Thirty credit hours from an accredited college pursuing a degree or certificate in the Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related field for Pre-Trial Services (PTS) interns
Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree for all other interns
Unofficial College or University transcript must be included in your application in order to be considered
Ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching
Ability to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
Must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey within one year of being hired
