They are seeking a Passive Thermal Control System (PTCS) Thermal Analysis Engineer to develop thermal models and analyze spacecraft components for NASA missions. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain high-fidelity thermal models using tools such as Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT

Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft components and integrated systems

Evaluate thermal performance under various mission phases, including launch, transit, lunar orbit, and quiescent modes

Support thermal verification activities, including test planning, data analysis, and model correlation

Collaborate with design teams to optimize thermal control strategies (e.g., insulation, heaters, radiators) and provide guidance on thermal considerations

Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and anomaly investigations

Document analysis results and present findings to internal stakeholders and NASA customers

Reviewing and providing feedback on NASA and vendor thermal designs to ensure compliance with requirements and best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience

Organizational Knowledge: Familiarity with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures

Proven experience in the design, analysis, testing, certification, and operation of spacecraft Passive Thermal Control Systems (PTCS), including but not limited to multilayer insulation (MLI), thermal blankets, surface coatings, radiators, heat pipes, and other passive thermal hardware across pre-launch, flight, and post-landing phases

Hands-on experience with industry-standard thermal analysis software such as Thermal Desktop (preferred), COMSOL, Ansys Fluent, or equivalent tools

Familiarity with the full Engineering Life Cycle process

Ability to effectively coordinate and integrate support across a wide range of technical disciplines

Strong capability to assess, validate, and ensure thermal designs meet technical accuracy and compliance requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills
