Responsibilities
Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Process and track client settlements, distributions, and retainers, ensuring compliance with trust accounting regulations
Maintain accurate records of firm expenses, billing, and timekeeping
Assist with preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets
Process payroll for firm employees
Reconcile ledgers and ensure accurate reporting of client and firm financials
Coordinate with external accountants for tax filing and audits
Manage and track trust account balances, ensuring proper compliance with state and federal regulations
Communicate with clients regarding billing questions or concerns
Perform other administrative and financial duties as needed
Qualification
Required
3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with a personal injury law firm or legal industry background
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Familiarity with trust accounting principles and procedures, particularly in relation to personal injury settlements
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion and confidentiality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
