Vice President Finance
Responsibilities
Own and manage the full finance and accounting function, including general ledger, month-end close, AR/AP, billing, collections, and audit-ready processes
Establish reliable internal controls, reporting discipline, and financial visibility across the organization
Transition accounting and reconciliation work away from external providers and bring critical functions in-house
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Develop financial models to support operational decisions, growth initiatives, and capital investments
Provide clear, actionable insights to ownership on cash flow, profitability, and performance drivers
Evaluate and improve existing billing and invoicing processes, including assessing and implementing new systems where appropriate
Improve efficiency across AR/AP and transaction processing in a labor-intensive environment
Assess team structure, workflows, and staffing needs as the business grows
Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning
Support banking, lender, and financing relationships as needed
Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, insurance, and industry requirements
Serve as a trusted thought partner to founders on growth, hiring, and investment decisions
Support ownership and investors with timely, accurate reporting and financial readiness
Deliver monthly financial reporting to the board of directors and participate in quarterly board meetings
Assist with financial analysis and integration related to tuck-in acquisitions
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and billing team (expected 4–5 individuals within next 12 months)
Foster accountability while maintaining a collaborative, respectful team environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required
7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
Strong experience managing day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including month-end close, reporting, and controls
Solid foundation in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience in capital-intensive or asset-heavy industries is preferred
Exposure to private equity is a plus but not required
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus due to a high percentage of Spanish-speaking subcontractors
MBA is a plus
CPA and/or CMA certification preferred
