The Internal Agency MRI Technologist will respond to critical coverage needs for MRI locations, perform MRI procedures, and support the training of radiology students while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

Responds to department critical coverage needs throughout the system for all MRI locations in the system

Performs MRI procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, maintaining high quality imaging and patient welfare as a top priority

Supports didactic training of radiology students through demonstration and constructive guidance

Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner(s) within all guidelines of MRI safety

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of MRI safety zones and practices all safety guidelines

Interviews/screens patient for appropriateness of exam and patient history and documents such accurately

Explains MRI procedures to patient/family for ultimate success of exam

Administers appropriate contrast media intravenously and accurately evaluates images to ensure quality and diagnostic status of exam

Required

Graduate of ARRT accredited program in Radiologic Technology

1 year dedicated experience in MRI or Graduate of an approved MRI training program and Registry Eligible

ARRT - R

ARRT - MR must be obtained within one year of hire date

Strong analytical/problem solving skills

Knowledge of current MR technical information

Proficient in using computers and computer systems

Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Radiology

Certification in ARRT MR
