Law Practice
Responsibilities
Attending court appearances as required for referred cases at various courthouses
Handling referred misdemeanors, felonies, and post-conviction cases
Conducting jury trials
Visiting clients in jail as necessary
Performing legal research and writing, including drafting motions
Attending and conducting DMV-APS hearings
Performing case evaluations and strategic analysis of cases
Conducting client consultations and providing compassionate legal guidance
Provide other legal services as agreed upon
Qualification
Required
3+ years of criminal defense experience
Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of California and admitted to practice law in California
Contractors must maintain their own professional liability insurance
Possesses a poised, polished, and professional appearance
Demonstrates excellent courtroom presence and maintains a professional and empathetic demeanor in all client interactions
Possesses strong legal research, writing, and strategic analysis skills
Capable of evaluating cases, developing effective defense strategies, and producing high-quality work product
Has excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
Is exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage time and multitask
Possesses the ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment without direct supervision
Is tech-savvy and computer literate
Travel within Riverside County and surrounding areas is required
Preferred
Experience in handling a variety of criminal cases, including misdemeanors, felonies, resentencing, and post-conviction matters
Some trial experience is preferred
Familiarity with contesting motions and DUI/vehicle-related crimes, including DMV-APS hearings
