Responsibilities
Lead and manage the powerplant engineering team to ensure effective and efficient operations
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes for aircraft engines
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and airworthiness standards
Develop and implement service bulletins and maintenance procedures for jet engines and turbofans
Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting for aircraft on ground (AOG) situations
Work closely with OEMs to ensure optimal performance and reliability of engines
Coordinate ground operations related to powerplant engineering and maintenance activities
Manage the budget and resources for the powerplant engineering department
Provide technical guidance and support for engineering projects and initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in powerplant engineering within the aviation industry
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness standards
Experience with aircraft on ground (AOG) procedures and challenges
Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of jet engines and turbofans
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
