Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable cloud-native applications using Python and advanced AWS Serverless services (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3)
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code, following best practices for testing and development within a microservices and event-driven pattern
Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring high scalability, fault tolerance, clear separation of concerns, and security best practices are baked into both new and existing cloud solutions
Use AWS CDK and CloudFormation to define the infrastructure required for your applications
Help automate environment provisioning and CI/CD pipelines to ensure our products are self-scaling and easily deployable
Partner with leadership to implement security best practices (e.g., IAM, network controls) directly into the application and production environments
Act as a hands-on implementation specialist to ensure our cloud solutions are secure by design

Required

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), who is a resident of the continental U.S., excluding California
At least 5 years of experience in a software engineering role
Proven expertise in developing applications with Python
At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and architecting with core AWS services
Experience using AI tools
Strong familiarity with microservices architecture, event-driven patterns, and serverless technologies
Proficiency with NoSQL (specifically DynamoDB) and SQL database systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation or CDK) to support your own deployments
Highly self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to absorb complex technical requirements and translate them into high-quality code
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication in English, focused on clear technical explanations
Strong interpersonal skills, focused on rapport-building, teamwork, and aligning technical choices with business value

Preferred

AWS Certifications (e.g., Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) are strongly preferred
Experience developing GenAI applications or features (including knowledge of Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker) is strongly preferred
