Application Developer II- Finance Systems

Kinder Morgan is looking for a mid-level techno-functional analyst with a strong foundation in accounting principles and hands-on experience in finance systems and IT solutions. This role bridges Finance and Technology, ensuring applications support accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

Support month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations through ERP systems
Assist in chart of accounts maintenance, posting logic, and financial controls
Gather requirements from Finance teams for enhancements and new features
Prepare and execute UAT, create training materials, and support end-user adoption
Configure and maintain Financial Systems
Collaborate on data integrations, master data management, and security roles
Develop and maintain financial reports using BI tools (Power BI, SSRS)
Troubleshoot system issues and perform root cause analysis
Act as liaison between Finance and IT teams
Document processes, SOPs, and maintain system knowledge base
Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or Information Systems
3–5 years experience in a techno-functional role supporting Finance systems
Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting
Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP platform and BI tools
Knowledge of SQL and data analysis
Exposure to automation tools (Power Automate, UiPath)
Familiarity with SOX compliance and segregation of duties
Experience with Project methodology and writing user stories
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
