Responsibilities

Assists field geologist with data collection activities at core sites including describing lithology from core samples, setting up packer tests, collecting aquifer and water quality samples, and setting up and monitoring aquifer tests
Assists with entering data into databases and spreadsheets. Reviews qualitative data of all information incorporated into the database and edits necessary image and text files
Assists with data entry by reviewing all qualitative information and metadata incorporated into databases and editing necessary image and text files
Utilizes several GIS-related (i.e., ESRI) product to assist with creating maps, shapefiles, web viewers, field forms, etc
Assists geologists with report preparation, including generation of figures and tables
Assists geologists with other office and field duties as needed

Required

High School diploma or equivalent
Be at least part-time and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students
Provide a copy of Official school transcript within 30 days of employment

Valid driver's license

Preferred

A minimum of nine hours of college-level hydrogeology, GIS, or environmental/water-resource related courses
Bachelors degree in Geology, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field
Participation in a Master's Degree program in hydrogeology or related field
Preferred Degrees: Geology or Hydrogeology
Preferred Degree Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
