Spartan Capital Group is partnering with a Michigan-based manufacturing organization in their search for a Shared Services Accountant to support core payment and billing activity. This role involves owning processes, solving problems, and collaborating with finance leadership and operating teams to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.

Responsibilities

Review and process vendor invoices
Validate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
Prepare and support scheduled payment runs
Assist with ACH, check, and wire activity
Create and send customer invoices and statements
Apply incoming payments and resolve discrepancies
Track outstanding balances and follow up as needed
Support account set-up and credit reviews
Assist with monthly close and account reconciliations
Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger
Prepare journal entries and support audit requests
Act as a point of contact for vendors and internal departments
Work with procurement, operations, and finance to resolve issues
Help troubleshoot breakdowns in process or data
Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Support system changes, testing, and new procedures
Create documentation and job aids for consistency
Maintain aging schedules for payables and receivables
Assist with financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis

Qualification

Accounting degreeAccounts payable experienceAccounts receivable experienceERP systems knowledgeExcel skillsOrganizedDetail-drivenCommunication skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
2–4+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
Experience in a transaction-heavy or fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of accounting or ERP systems
Strong Excel skills
Organized, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple deadlines
Comfortable communicating with both internal teams and external partners
