Responsibilities
Analyze and design complex parts and assemblies to applicable standards
Provide technical data and assist in decision making process that impact compliance with design specifications
Assist in design, analysis of design, testing of design, and qualification of the design for production and sale to the public
Participate on projects teams
Create documents related to the design engineering function (i.e., layout drawings, detail drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and design records)
Create documentation required to ensure the product can be produced as designed
Identify and develop processes for engineering efficiencies (Change Order process, Special process, etc.)
Provide sales support by analyzing architectural layouts for special products. Design, develop, and cost the special product
Develop and improve mechanical design processes for better efficiency
Identify improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of process improvements to reduce cost, improve changeover, increase quality and repeatability
Design tools and fixturing to improve the work piece holding capability for assembly and machining processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
2+ years of experience in a design engineering role, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with 2D design software
Ability to perform 3D Modeling
Ability to read Bills of Materials
Ability to multitask and problem solve
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to prepare Test protocols and Test Reports
Finite Element Analysis
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and PLM systems
Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations
Preferred
AutoCAD preferred
