Personal Injury Case Manager
Turnbull Moak Pendergrass is a law firm specializing in personal injury cases, and they are seeking a Personal Injury Case Manager. The role involves managing a portfolio of cases, coordinating with attorneys and clients, and ensuring efficient handling of all case-related activities.
Responsibilities
Serve as the client’s primary point of contact
Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates every 30 days and setting realistic expectations of the case timeline
Use the case management system properly and efficiently
Gather and verify key client details
Collect details on the client’s personal and health insurance, including Medicare or Medicaid, and explain the relevance of this information for their case
Verify client injuries and medical treatment; assist in setting up additional treatment if needed
Liaise with medical providers such as Tri-med and independent doctors to coordinate treatment plans
Order and track medical records, bills, and other case-related documents
Add relevant information to case management systems, update case statuses, and open appropriate checklist items
Ensure all pertinent medical and billing records are ordered once liability is confirmed
Manage case expenses, including attorney fees, treatment facility costs, and lost wages documentation
Track reductions on bills and negotiate with providers for cost reductions on the client’s behalf
Prepare and package demand letters, settlement brochures, and supporting documents for attorney review and submission to insurance companies
Follow up with attorneys and insurance adjusters on the status of demands and settlement offers
Manage the disbursement of settlement funds, ensuring legal obligations are met, including lien payments and reductions
Coordinate the settlement disbursement process, including the drafting of disbursement sheets and liaising with clients on payment methods
Ensure all necessary checks are prepared, distributed to clients and providers, and scanned for record-keeping
Once file is ready to be closed, ensure that the file is sent to your supervisor to close out with all pertinent documents saved in the case management system

Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines
Empathy and patience in dealing with clients who may be going through stressful or painful situations
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
High level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive client information
Preferred
Familiarity with personal injury law, medical records management, and legal billing processes
Proficiency in case management software
