Senior Manager, Economic Development
The QTI Group is proud to partner with The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce to hire their next Senior Manager, Economic Development. This newly created position will be responsible for supporting regional economic development by leading responses to site selection and investment inquiries, implementing targeted business retention initiatives and developing strategies to accelerate economic growth.
Responsibilities
Lead coordination for business inquiries and Request for Information documents – from initial prospecting through project completion
Coordinate closely with regional and state economic development partners, local governments and utilities, brokers and others to support site selection efforts
Promote investment opportunities in the greater Madison area through site visits, marketing materials, promotions/presentations and attending local industry events
Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of available sites and collaborate with external stakeholders to assist in site evaluations and promotions
Coordinate programming that supports the retention and expansion of business, including efforts related to workforce development, talent attraction and growth of new/emerging start-ups
Produce compelling regional profiles highlighting workforce, real estate, innovation assets and data dashboards for leadership groups, shareholders and investors
Identify opportunities to advance targeted industries including support for grant writing, policy analysis and assessment of available tools/technologies
Support the Chamber’s role as a connector across business and community needs, workforce systems and civic institutions
Provide cross-team collaborative support on various GMCC initiatives and organizational priorities including communications, special projects, and various programming
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years of experience in economic/business development, urban planning or related field
Bachelor's degree in Economic Development, Economics, Business/Public Administration, Urban Planning or similar field
Strong understanding of economic development principles and practices to advance business and inclusive economic growth
Skilled in applied financial analysis, forecasting, conducting market research and comparative regional assessment to support site selection and investment decisions
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at various stages, meeting tight deadlines and coordinating with multiple external partners
Preferred
Certified Economic Development (CEcD) or similar credential
