Commercial Roofing Superintendent
The Original Roofing Company (TORC) has been a prominent player in the roofing industry since 1964, operating in Las Vegas and beyond. They are seeking a Commercial Roofing Superintendent to manage projects and crews, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality installation while maintaining communication with project managers and overseeing on-site operations.
Responsibilities
Receives, logs, verifies, and tracks new projects from the time of release through final installation
Review work orders against scope of work, budgets, and submittals to make sure all required information has been provided and complies with what the Builder/Owner/Property Manager has set forth
Leads and manages on-site team
Effectively communicates directly with Project Manager(s) regarding all facets of the project
Manage material deliveries, schedules, staging and phasing
Attend Mandatory Jobsite Meetings, as required
Process accurate and timely purchase orders and ensure that all unused materials are documented properly and returned to the yard or supplier – including pallets
Adhere to roofing system specifications provided for each job
Document through job note form and photographs thorough files on all customer discrepancies and complaints
Ensure proper hiring and/or termination process
Ensure all safety policies are complied with and strictly enforced
Ensure foremen knowledge of proper paperwork procedures (i.e., time sheets)
Ensure attendance of your foremen at all scheduled safety meetings
Follow the project timeline to ensure all deadlines are met
Must be present at all active job sites a minimum of once per day
Process accurate and timely purchase orders and that all unused materials are documented properly and returned to the yard or supplier – including pallets
Liaising with builder’s superintendent and project managers
Report and document any incidents on the job site to the General Superintendent immediately
Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness and orderliness
Perform Closeout Inspections, documenting completed work and identifying punch list items
Ensure that your assigned vehicle is maintained, insured, and licensed properly at all times
Maintain open lines of communication with co-workers at all times
Maintain strict confidentiality of all company business
Maintain a positive attitude
Track equipment in the field, assist with safety equipment inspections, incident response, and reporting
Track and report work progress and percentage of completion on multiple projects
Manage job profit gain/fade by identifying and adapting for unforeseen production issues
Assist leadership team in identifying excellent and poor performance in the field
Conduct a Pre-Construction Meeting with the Foreman (and crew) PRIOR to starting the project; this effort minimizes issues and misunderstandings, maximizing the crews time which enables them to increase productivity and thus increase their income
Set and track daily goals and standards for each project/crew
Conduct Daily project inspections to ensure work complies with TORC and Manufacturer standards
Create daily/weekly reports showing project progress, schedule adherence, and safety needs/issues
Provide operational direction, leadership, and accountability in the field and office
Provide safety direction and coordinate training for field as necessary
Taking the initiative to learn all facets of the company
Coming up with, and presenting, ideas of how we can become more efficient both in Project Managing and in the Field
Identify and help resolve a variety of challenges and/or conflicts
Remain open-minded and teachable
Establish and effectively communicate with Customers, General Superintendent, Project Managers, Metal Shop Coordinator, Purchasing Department, and Accounting
Qualification
Required
Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Must have OSHA 30 Certificate
Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, safety setup, and toolbox talks
Must be able to pass background check for military bases & prisons
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Focused on Detail, organized and results driven
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised
Maintains a professional demeanor when dealing with stressful situations or difficult personalities
Teamwork Oriented
Leadership qualities, coach, and motivator/mentor
Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record
Must be able to walk for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Must be able to carry and climb ladders as needed
Must be able to endure outdoor elements such as extreme heat and cold that is common in the valley
Must be comfortable with heights
Must be able to maintain balance while walking on sloped surfaces
Preferred
High School diploma or GED, college an advantage but not required
Bi-Lingual preferred (English/Spanish)
