The role involves managing healthcare-associated infections, conducting employee health screenings, and developing the hospital's Utilization Review plan.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel
By authority of the Infection Control Committee, may institute collection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions
Responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control
Responsible for attending to all employee work related injuries and recommending appropriate action, as well as communicating with the risk manager any trends in the workplace
Responsible for pre-employment medical screening tests, as well as annual recurring screens
Serves as a liaison to the worker’s compensation carrier for our facility
Responsible for development and implementation of the hospital’s Utilization Review plan
Qualification
Required
Current Indiana Registered Nurse Licensure Required
Minimum three (3) years experience in a supervisory position in healthcare or one (1) to three (3) years in infection control
Member of the Association of Practitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology
Working knowledge of microbiology, Epidemiology, infectious disease, aseptic techniques and current practices
Requires travel between Muncie and Greenfield
Current BLS Certification
A minimum of one-year experience in utilization review
Demonstrated leadership and management ability with a minimum of two-four years' experience in nursing administration
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Basic computer knowledge
