Responsibilities
Design, build, test, validate, and maintain Epic clinical and or revenue cycle applications with a focus on Orders and PAS functionality
Build and support Epic Order Sets using PRL and OSQ, applying rules, restrictions, and workflow-driven logic to meet clinical and operational needs
Configure and maintain Epic System Lists, including PSE-built lists, to support standardized values, validations, and revenue cycle workflows
Partner with clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to analyze current-state workflows, design future-state processes, and translate requirements into Epic configuration
Implement approved system changes following established change control processes and governance standards
Provide tier III on-call application support, troubleshooting complex issues and coordinating resolution within defined SLAs
Serve as a primary or secondary contact with the EMR vendor for issue resolution, upgrades, and application enhancements
Participate in application testing for new builds, hotfixes, and major releases to ensure production readiness
Support go-lives, implementations, and Command Center activities with onsite or remote application support
Collaborate with training teams to support role-based training efforts during peak demand
Maintain accurate system documentation, build standards, and test scripts
Monitor system performance, identify enhancement opportunities, and proactively communicate risks or issues
Communicate project status, timelines, and impacts clearly to project teams, department representatives, and leadership
Qualification
Required
3+ years of healthcare IT experience supporting EPIC Orders applications, including troubleshooting, building, maintaining, and applying rules and restrictions
EPIC Orders Transmittal or Bugsy Epic certification
Hands-on experience building and maintaining order sets, rules, restrictions, and PAS functionality, specifically using PRL (Preference Lists) and OSQ (Order Set Questions)
Experience building and maintaining Epic System Lists, including those built in PSE, to support PAS and revenue cycle workflows through standardized values, rules, and system validations
Extensive experience providing tier III application support, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting go-lives or Command Center activities
Ability to work cross functionally with clinical, operations, and training teams to ensure continuity of application upgrades and enhancements across the organization
Develop, test, and implement system configurations related to order rules, restrictions, and related functionalities
Perform data collection, mining, and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement within the EPIC platform
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system design changes, rules logic, and data management procedures
Preferred
Additional Epic Certifications
Experience with multiple Epic modules beyond Orders and PAS, such as Willow, Stork, Radiant, or Resolute
Familiarity with Epic reporting tools
