Responsibilities
Review and analyze files before scheduled hearings, including written pre-hearing reports for multiple attorneys
Pull, organize, and bookmark medical records on a regular basis
Schedule examinations with vendors and facilities
Work with vendors to request and obtain records via subpoena/medical authorization; follow up and organize/summarize upon receipt
Assist attorneys with research and drafting documents for litigation
Assist attorneys with answering and issuing discovery
Compose routine correspondence
Communicate by phone with attorneys, claims professionals, opposing counsel, medical providers, and courts
Qualification
Required
3+ years of litigation experience
2+ years of Workers compensation defense exposure
Experience working in an all-inclusive document management platform is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines
Reading and comprehending complex instructions from attorneys
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred
Experience in Minnesota workers' compensation litigation is a plus
An associate or bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate is a plus
