This position is in support of a contract with the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO, focusing on maintaining and optimizing network systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, applying security patches and optimizing systems for reliability and efficiency

Support network design and project execution, providing technical input and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Manage network assets and data center infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, and lifecycle tracking

Implement and enforce security protocols, backup solutions, and disaster recovery plans to ensure system resilience

Provide client support and documentation, lead or assist in network projects, and stay current with emerging technologies

Required

Cisco Router and switch configuration (IOS/NX-OS), Palo Alto NextGen Firewall and VPN configuration experience, Experience with General Dynamics Taclanes and/or GEMOne

F5 Load Balancer Knowledge, GTM/Big DNS Knowledge

Technically proficient and experienced with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems, network security, network traffic analysis, incident response, vulnerability analysis, packet analysis, and systems hardening

possesses proficient knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing protocols, encryption protocols, communication protocols. Examples include but not limited to: TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, NTP, etc

Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Performance Tuning

Ability to identify, track and complete tasks for multiple projects under prescribed timeframes
