Senior Estimator
Odin Construction is a rapidly growing company specializing in environmental remediation and construction services. The Senior Estimator is responsible for providing corporate estimating support, developing detailed cost estimates for complex projects, and collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate project planning and budgeting.
Responsibilities

Developing complete detailed estimates for large, complex jobs
Reviewing owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project
Developing a construction plan to serve as the basis for the estimate
Performing quality take-offs when applicable
Consulting with internal Odin stakeholders on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, and schedules
Presenting and reconciling estimates with the capture team and clients
Staying abreast of trends and developments in the industry
Attending project meetings and site visits as required
Establish preliminary project schedules
Qualification
Required
Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with complex projects
Strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Ability to use P6, CAD and possibly AGTEK in addition to the listed software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and any experience with HCSS HeavyBid estimating software is a plus
Ability to meet contract deadlines, potentially requiring extended hours including nights and weekends
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with vendors, management, and other coworkers, both individually and in front of a group
Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential
Thorough knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid and Microsoft office
Sitting for extended periods of time is common
Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents
No heavy lifting is expected, though exertion of up to 15 pounds of force may occasionally be required
Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculator, copiers, and fax machines
Good reasoning ability is important, must be able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business
Primarily an office position. Occasionally, site visits and field project visits are required. Travel to offices and projects in various locations around the country as needed
Must be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations
When on project sites or if performing some types of work or activities, must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: earplugs, protective eyewear, gloves, hard hat, steel-toed work boots, and high visibility safety apparel
