The role involves collaborating with teachers, facilitating instruction, and maintaining high behavioral expectations for students.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Assist scholars who need additional support in and outside the classroom. This could include wheel chair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, etc
Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacher
Facilitate reading intervention, small group instruction and pull out groups
Conduct academic assessments
Provide instruction in various drills and activities using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills
Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academics
Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students
Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
Maintain high behavioral expectations for scholar behavior at all times and enforce Equitas Academy’s positive discipline policies
Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders
May provide adaptive supports with eating and toileting
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
AA degree or equivalent required
Knowledge and experience in ABA
Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test
Previous experience working with and supervising children
Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment
Preferred
BA degree preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
