Responsibilities
Perform installation, calibration, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of GE Precision Healthcare equipment, including but not limited to diagnostic imaging systems (MRI, CT, X-ray), ultrasound machines, and patient monitoring devices
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues on-site, utilizing schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
Execute emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime for healthcare providers and ensure continuous patient care
Provide comprehensive technical support and training to customer staff on the proper operation and basic maintenance of GE equipment
Manage a territory and schedule service calls efficiently to meet established service level agreements and customer expectations
Maintain accurate and timely service records, documentation, and reports using company-provided software
Adhere to all company safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO)
Proactively identify opportunities for product improvements, service enhancements, and customer education
Collaborate effectively with sales, technical support, and product development teams to ensure seamless customer experiences
Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring proper handling and accountability
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field; Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or equivalent technical role, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry
Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex electronic and mechanical systems
Strong understanding of networking principles and computer hardware/software troubleshooting
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, test equipment, and service software
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required
Ability to travel frequently within a designated service territory, including overnight stays as needed
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in various healthcare environments
