Insurance Program Manager
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Insurance Program Manager to design and administer the commercial property/casualty insurance and self-insurance programs of the University and Penn State Health. The role involves working with university leadership and risk managers to identify risks, insurance needs, and to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities
Design and administer the commercial property/casualty insurance and self-insurance programs of the University and Penn State Health
Assist the Penn State Health and University Risk Managers in risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation efforts
Work with the University’s Chief Risk Officer as well as insurance brokers and insurers to identify specific exposures and insurance coverage needs, underwriting requirements, and program design
Work closely with university leadership to identify risks and potential insurance and non-insurance risk avoidance and transfer solutions
Present risk management and insurance coverage interpretation and advise leadership as required
Lead risk and insurance efforts during potential acquisitions
Advocate for favorable insurance requirements in contract reviews
Ensure the insurance program coverages are aligned with contractual requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strategic thinker; creative problem solver
Effective communicator with various Penn State Health and University constituents
Team player and collaborator; humble
Emotional intelligence
Strong work ethic; mission driven
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities
High regard for confidentiality
Thorough working knowledge and experience with insurance policy forms, coverage and underwriting practices
Working knowledge of computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office
Prior commercial insurance or risk management experience is required
Preferred
Insurance designation(s) such as CPCU, ARM, AU, etc
