Curriculum & Sustainability Education Program Manager – Buckley Center for Sustainability Education
The University of Colorado Boulder is launching the Buckley Center for Sustainability Education (BCSE) and is seeking a Curriculum & Sustainability Education Program Manager. The PM will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to develop sustainability education programs and partnerships, enhancing curriculum-focused activities and advancing university-wide sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities
Partner with executive leadership, faculty, and administrators to coordinate a coherent, campus-wide sustainability portfolio, including supporting strategy development, academic collaborations, student engagement, and operational initiatives
Support the design and implementation of structures that enhance collaboration across CU Boulder colleges, centers, and administrative units
Assist in building and maintaining external partnerships with universities, government agencies, NGOs, corporations, foundations, and multilateral organizations
Provide project management for critical initiatives that position CU Boulder as a hub for sustainability research, education, operations and community engagement and organizations at local, state, and national levels
Generate key performance indicators and track and report progress toward sustainability curriculum goals and initiatives
Collaborate with the BSCE Director of Partnerships and Engagement (DoPE)
Organize/create campus wide sustainability project competitions/conferences that increase student engagement in curriculum
Assist in meeting with employers to create pathways to bringing students employment through project competition
Working with FAD and DoPE as oversight and assistance
Working with DoPE on key performance indicators to track and report progress toward sustainability goals and initiatives
Coordinate with faculty leaders to integrate sustainability into curriculum development and support the growth of sustainability-related academic programs and student opportunities
Support committees and cross-campus groups advancing sustainability and climate justice as well as future focus areas
Help connect sustainability initiatives with CU Boulder’s research strengths, working with institutes such as CIRES, INSTAAR, IBS, and RASEI
Help connect sustainability initiatives with CU Boulder’s performing arts, humanities, and other non-STEM fields
Handle communication and engagement strategies to promote CU Boulder’s sustainability education priorities
Build, support and help maintain relationships with key external partners, including with the City of Boulder and other Colorado communities
Work with FAD and the Buckley Curriculum Ambassadors (BCAs) to coordinate with faculty leaders on academic programs and student opportunities, faculty committees and student organizations
Coordinate with BCAs and summarize activities
Compile results and create summary reports
Liaise with FAD and BCAs
Collaborate with FAD in curriculum development with BCAs
Assist in creating certifications, micro-credentials, and seals that employers recognize in collaboration with FAD and DoPE
Collaborate with the FAD to support and ensure proper integration of Indigenous knowledge and multicultural perspectives into sustainability planning, operations, and education
Coordinate logistics, handle timelines, and ensure the availability of resources for successful program implementation
Develop, track, and refine sustainability metrics and reporting systems (e.g.,STARS, Carnegie Elective Classification for Sustainability)
Data tracking, collection, reports with figures, data presentation to track and demonstrate operational excellence
Present results of efforts to FAD and DoPE as needed
Work with CU Boulder communications teams to run events, campaigns, and materials that raise visibility for sustainability leadership
Collaborate with CU Strategic Relations and Communications (SRC), FAD and DoPE to create content for Instagram & other social media (e.g. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, BlueSky)
Draft reports, presentations, talking points, and other materials for executive leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and/or experience in related fields (e.g., sustainability, education, STEM, communication, industry collaboration, or employment)
5 years of professional related experience
Strong communication abilities to collaborate with academic leadership
Ability to learn new skills, systems, and policies quickly
Initiative to generate ideas and willingness to share these ideas and strategies with team members to accomplish goals
Ability to respond quickly to team communications
Strong skills in Microsoft Office
Preferred
Familiarity with CU Boulder course policies, curriculum, and organizational structure
Subject matter expertise in sustainability, environment, climate change, resilience, and/or adaptation in both formal and informal educational settings
Experience overseeing or revising curriculum in higher education
Experience in higher education and outreach to K12 students, and familiarity with the industry and careers in sustainability
Experience living, learning, and/or working abroad in related fields
