The Program Director for the Diagnostic Assistant/Radiological Technology Program is responsible for academic leadership, curriculum development, and managing program operations while also teaching and supporting student success.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate sound comprehension of the role of Radiological Technologists and be able to effectively role model and teach that role
Create and utilize instructional plans to effectively organize and teach course work in accordance with syllabi
In collaboration with program faculty, develop and maintain curriculum aligned with the Iowa Department of Education, JCERT accreditation standards, and industry needs
In collaboration with program faculty, lead program assessment, accreditation maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts
In collaboration with the Dean and Associate Deans, coordinate course scheduling, program operations, and compliance requirements
Assist in recruiting, mentoring, and supporting adjunct faculty within the program
In collaboration with program faculty, oversee student advising, enrollment, retention, and academic progress of students
Promote the program through marketing, outreach, and recruitment activities
In collaboration with the department, manage clinical partnerships, fieldwork sites, and external educator coordination
Support student engagement in internal and external programming
Collaborate with internal departments and serve as program representative externally
Maintain facilities, equipment, and ensure a safe learning environment with lecture and lab spaces
Monitor program budget and contribute to strategic planning and resource allocation
Maintain a full-time teaching load delivering student-centered instruction using diverse teaching methods and technologies to support varied learning styles
Monitor and evaluate student learning through formative and summative assessments
Participate in required departmental and College-wide activities
Engage in service to the college with both internal and external communities of interest

Required

Master's degree
Prior experience in curriculum design, evaluation, and instruction with documentation of at least two years' experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program
Prior experience in program administration and academic advising
Three years of clinical experience in the radiological practice
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration or license to practice in the state of Iowa

Preferred

Experience teaching at a community college
One year of experience in education or a related field
Knowledge of or experience with disability law, policies, and procedures
