Graduate Student Researcher

Work on building next-generation, automated tools for materials discovery at the atomic level
Focus on Automated STEM and SPM – microscopes that can navigate, tune, and measure with minimal human intervention
Engage in Machine learning & decision-making – Bayesian optimization, active learning, RL for experiment planning
Tackle real materials problems – quantum and energy materials, ferroelectrics, electrolytes, complex oxides, etc
Turn electron and scanning probe microscopes into intelligent experimental agents that help discover and understand new materials faster
Qualification
Required
Graduate students (PhD track)
Backgrounds in materials science, physics, EE, CS, or related fields
Interest in at least two of the following: Microscopy (STEM / TEM / SPM), Programming and ML (Python, PyTorch, etc.), Experimental work with real materials and devices
Preferred
Industrial experience is a plus!
